MSR Restructures
2 February 2001
The MSR has restructured with a completely new set of bylaws. We are now organized on a more tribal model that we believe will give our members more say in what happens with the "tribe." It is our believe that these new bylaws are closer to how our ancestors organized themselves and that these new bylaws will make the MSR a stronger and healthier organization. Stop by and check out the new bylaws.

So all 3000+ pages of the site are now available in text file format. This will, we hope, make downloading and printing of these texts more convenient for everyone. (Note: This has been discontinued with the move to our new domain which included a complete redesign of the site.)

Heliand in English
8 December 2000
Now in the Northern European Studies section, we have the English translation of the Introduction and chapter 2 to Heliand. This rewriting of the Christian Gospels was ordered by the pope in order that it would be more appealing to our Heathen forefathers. Christ becomes a warrior, the last supper, a sumble feast. Look for more of Gavin's translation coming in the near future.

The Swastika
28 November 2000
We now have the full text of The Swastika by Thomas Wilson in the Northern European Studies section. This history of the Swastika was written in 1894 by the, then, curator of the United States National Museum. This history which includes 370+ illustrations, is a history absent of the prejudices foisted on this ancient symbol by the National Socialists and shows that this holy symbol has been in use by many different peoples as a good luck symbol and holy symbol from antiquity.

Heliand in Old Saxon

15 October 2000
The Encyclopædia Britannica says this about Heliand: "Heliand (Old Saxon: Saviour), epic on the life of Christ in Old Saxon alliterative verse dating from about 830. It attempted to make the newly imposed Christian religion intelligible to the warlike Saxons. Christ was made a Germanic king who rewarded his retainers (the disciples) with arm rings; Herod's feast became a drinking bout; and Nazarethburg, Bethleemaburg, and Rumuburg had the homely familiarity of Saxon towns." Now we have the first 59 chapters of Heliand in the Northern European Studies section. Look for Gavin Chappell's translation coming soon!

Vetraust Forbund

A new organization and mailing list has been formed here at MSR. Vetraust Forbund is an alliance of individuals within the Elder Troth wishing to associate and mutually support each other in their quest for knowledge of the runes, runic based martial arts and the more esoteric aspects of the culture, language and arts of our ancestors. (Note: This group has been discontinued.)

New Hand-crafted Items in Regintroth Store

Happy Birthday To Us!

One year ago, today, The Midhnott Sol Regintroth was born. The web site started out with two pages and a lot of ideas. Now it's a year later and we still have a lot of ideas but the site has grown to over 2500 pages. We have had some great people join us in our work along the way and we have grown as an organization. We at the Midhnott Sol would like to thank everyone for helping to make our site a success especially those who have generously contributed to our site without thought of compensation. People like Jim Johnston who, with his Heathen Fairy Tales and Norse-ery Rhymes has made the Heathen Family section into what it is today; Gavin Chappell who has provided us with translations of lore and great works of fiction in the Heathen Fiction section; Yves Kodratoff who has provided us with the complete text of Grimm's Fairy Tales in English and German parallel text; Hank Meeske who also provided some great fiction for the Heathen Fiction section; and all the rest who have contributed to our site we say Thank You!
