GOALS OF ANGLO-SAXON PROJECT
With the growing interest in learning the elder tongues and the void of learning material for Old English this project was born. The main goals of the project is to bring a dictionary for Old English online and to also bring a reader online as well.
The latter project being the one we will focus on first off.
The reader that will be used for the project is from Sweet's Anglo Saxon Primer. At the moment we are only concerned with the reader portion.
Transcription Notes:
There are a few things to be noted on the transcription:
1. The vowels with a line above them: Instead of using that I simply used (´ ) instead, since it is only used to show stress.
2. I couldn't do it for the æ or œ, so I simply just type the normal letter in there.
3. Occasionally you come across an e with a hook below it. Wright says it is an alternative of æ or ae so I went with æ instead. Other than those things above there are no other problems to really focus on.
