Heathen History - We provide a daily bit of history
(BoH) concerning continental and Anglo-Saxon heathenry. A typical post will say
BoH followed by the catagory (tribes, persons, places, neighbors, battles, conversion,
culture, history) and the title.source.
Example: BoH Tribes: Saxon.ce. This
post would contain information on the Germanic tribe 'Saxons' from the Columbia
Encyclopedia.
The posts are taken from various sources including encyclopedias,
translated sources, and popular as well as scholarly works. Some bits have been
written especially for us and others are taken from various lists, such as Germanic-L,
with the consent of the authors. Feel free to comment on any post. Those of you
who have been receiving the BoH's from Saxontroth may notice some duplication,
but there is plenty of new material.
We hope you enjoy our efforts.
(Comments from the Northvegr Web Mistress: This is a great list!
You'll find lore being presented here that is almost impossible to find elsewhere.

Heathenbooks - This group is for the
benefit of those new to Asatru and others wishing to gain a deeper understanding
of applicable texts. It will select a book, then read and discuss it one section
at a time. It is asked that posts pertain to the book being discussed. While spirited
interaction is hoped for, flame wars will not be tolerated. One warning will be
given. No type of sexual or racial discrimination will be tolerated. (Comments
from the Northvegr Web Mistress: This list is good if you wish to study
the lore more from a speculative slant as opposed to the more "stick to the
lore" foundation that Asatru Studies uses. This is not a statement on which
list is better, as it is more a matter of personal taste. My own tastes are with
being strongly lore based and less speculative. Your interests will vary. [A very
small amount of humor there.]) Regardless though, this is a good list and comes
highly recommended.
