Ceawlin According to this, Wôden had seven sons (Bældæg being common to
two royal lines); elsewhere he has only three, e.g. Wil. Malm. p. 17: tres filii,
Weldegius, Withlegius et Beldegius, from whom the Kentish kings, the Mercian
kings, and the West Saxon and Northumbrian kings respectively were descended.
