The cocks on the World-tree a-Blowing his Horn
The cocks on the world-tree a-blowing his horn
The stags in the forest are all forlorn,
The squirrels in the branches, bearing his news,
While down among the roots the dragon fiercely chews.
Sable Black Raven
Sable-black raven,
What do you see
When you fly up to the high throne
And perch on Odins knee?
Odin had a Fearsome Wolf
Odin had a fearsome wolf,
his teeth were quick to catch,
and every spear that Odin threw
the wolf would run and fetch.
Odin had a second wolf,
his teeth were sharp and white,
his coat was a dark and shaggy grey,
his eyes gleamed northern light.
Odin had a raven, called
Huginn, to you and me,
and every day hed scout about
and report on what hed see.
His other raven was a bird
with mighty claws and beak:
Muninn would fly from north to south -
knowledge was what hed seek.
