Players choose sides. Lots are drawn and the Russian player moves first.
Russian: d9 - d7
Swede: c5 - c7 X
A mistake on the Russian's part. This move allows the Swede to move and capture
the Russian, giving the Swede an instant advantage.
Russian: d1 - c1
Swede: d5 - d1
The Russian moves to set up a block to the king's escape. The Swede strikes
deep in to Russian territory, while at the same time opening up the king's route
of escape.
Russian: e8 - c8
Swede: e5 - c5
The Russian moves for a capture but the Swedish king moves to block the capture
while at the same time moving toward his escape route.
Russian: c1 - c4
Swede: e3 - c3 X
The Russian moves to threaten the king. But in doing so he has left himself
open to capture and the Swede moves to capture, giving the Swede an even stronger
advantage.
Russian: a4 - c4
Swede: e6 - c6
The Russian strikes back! The Russian threatens the king again and forces the
Swede to try to regroup!
Russian: e9 - d9
Swede: d1 - d5
The Russian continues to threaten the Swedish king, forcing the Swede to move
in order to keep the king from being captured.
Russian: e1 - d1
Swede: c3 - d3
The Russian continues to press the attack and the Swede counters to block once
again.
Russian: e2 - e3 X
Swede: d3 - c3 X
The Russian uses the unoccupied center gold square to capture a Swede. The Swede
retaliates and captures a Russian.
Russian: d1 - d4
Swede: c3 - d3 X
The Russian threatens the kings guard but leaves himself open for attack and
is captured by the Swede. Does the Russian have a top secret plan up his sleeve???
Russian: i4 - d4
Swede: c5 - c3
The Russians plan is revealed! But is it too late?? The king moves for the escape.
Russian: b5 - b3
Swede: c3 - c1
The Russian scrambles to keep the king from escaping and the king makes his
move for the corner!
Russian: b3 - b1
Swede: d3 - d1
The Russian is forced to block the kings escape and at the same time puts the
king in danger of being captured. The Swede moves to block the Russian.
Russian: a5 - c5 X
Swede: c1 - c3
The Russian takes another Swede by using the unoccupied center gold square for
a capture and the king moves in a continued attempt to make his escape.
Russian: a6 - a3
Swede: c3 - c1 X
The Russian has no choice but to block the kings escape route, which gives the
king the opportunity to capture the Russian piece by using the gold corner square
to make the capture.
Russian: f1 - e1
Swede: c1 - a1 - Swede wins
The Russian has little choice but to wait for the king to make his move which
he does, winning the game.
