The Translator's Gild

The Translator's Gild is here to work on new and original translations of the Lore of the Northern Way. There are many texts in Old Norse, Old Saxon and other medieavil languages that have not been translated into English at all. Likewise there are may wonderful works that have as their subject some aspect of the Northern Way, that are written in modern languages such as German, Swedish, Icelandic, etc, that have never been translated into English.

Over the years, the Northvegr site has become the premeir site for English translations of Northern lore. All of the work presented here is done by tribal members of Northvegr Félag and volunteers without any promise of compensation except the statisfaction gained in knowing that another difficult to find piece of Northern lore has been made freely available to anyone with an internet connection. That the lore presented here will be free to all who wish to view has been our mandate and will always be.

But we are not content to rest on our laurels! There still reamains a great deal of Northern lore that is untranslated and therefore unavailable to readers of English. We hope that more volunteers will join us in this most important work. Membership in the gild is simple. You need only begin working on a translation. If you have the skills that will allow you translate texts in Old Norse, Latin, Old Saxon, etc. or you have a specific work you would like to translate and make available on our site please do contact at the address below. Come help us make the lore of the Northern Way freely available to anyone who would like to view it.
