Review by Rinnandi
Two books have recently been given to our
family that are Norse Inspired Children's Stories. They are Stolen Thunder,
by Shirley Climo, and Illustrated by Alexander Koshkin, and Iduna and the Magic
Apples, by Marianna Mayer; Illustrated by Laszlo Gal. They are both excellent,
with fabulous illustrations. Stolen Thunder is a retelling of the Thyrmskvida,
and the artwork in this book is just as good as the story telling. The adolescent
kids in our house really liked the book; could fully understand the story, and
even the baby in the house loved to look at the pictures. It also tells a message
about perseverance and helping friends, for the good of all the Kin.
