The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers

Extended Edition DVD Box Set

Directed By Peter Jackson

The second installment in the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, TTT (The Two Towers) is out now witn an extended version DVD box set, that includes 43 minutes of added footage. When I first saw TTT, I though it was a bit disjointed but felt that was probably because it was the middle picture in the trilogy and which required it to set a lot of things up for the final picture. After seeing the exended version, I can definitely say it is a vast improvement on the picture. Though I think the extended version of the Fellow of the Ring was an improvement, the theatrical version stood on its own well. With the TTT, I believe the extended version is much better than the theatrical version. More than a few characters get better coverege and a lot more of the story is explained. We understand the motivations of Farimir and his brother, Boromir, much better, as a result of the added footage. On the whole, this is a better and more rounded movie than the theatrical release and can rightly be said to be the preferred version for viewing.
As with the extended version box set of the Fellowship of the Ring, this box set is packed with extra features that will keep you occupied for many hours. This box set is definitely a must have.
Included on the 4 disk DVD set are:
