Getting the Most out of the Tutorial

This tutorial consists of examples and exercises. To get the most out of this document, you should read through the document, typing all the silly little things we're telling you to type and trying out all of the exercises to see if you get them right. For convenience, you might want to print out the PostScript®#circledR; version of this document.

If you are familiar with L^ATEX, you'll probably be able to read the Tutorial somewhat faster, since many LYX ideas are just L^ATEX ideas in disguise. However, LYX does have idiosyncrasies^1.1 you'll want to learn about. Even if you don't feel like reading the rest of the Tutorial, you should definitely check out Section , which is specifically written for experienced L^ATEX users.
