Throughout the dictionary you will find the following abbreviations: e-n, e-t, e-m, e-u and e-s. These stand for the short versions of 'einhverr' and 'eitthvat' ("someone" and "something"), and they're there to tell you what case the objects of the verb take.
e-t is an abbreviation (forkortelse) for "eitthvat" (Modern Icelandic "eitthvað") and signifies that a noun in this position should be in the nominative (nefnifall) case.
e-m is an abbreviation (forkortelse) for "einhverjum" and signifies that a noun in this position should be in the dative (þágufall) case.
e-s is an abbreviation (forkortelse) for "einhvers" and signifies that a noun in this position should be in the genitive (eignarfall) case.
e-u is an abbreviation (forkortelse) for "einhverju" and signifies that a noun in this position should be in the accusative (þolfall) case.
