This part of the site is intended as a kind of archive of ways that various devotees Freyr have chosen to honor him in blots, rites and with sacrifices. I hope to have many examples of different rites including dedications rites and general blots in his honor.
You may have noticed that I have titled this section Rites, Blots and "Gifting" and wonder why I used the word gifting instead of sacrificing as I previously had there. The reason for this is two-fold. First there have been suggestions from more than one person who follows our ways that we should endeavor to use words that have as there base Old English or Old Norse instead of the the words that have as there origin Latin, Spanish, ect. and I tend to agree with this. Hence the word "give" or "gift" which is descended from the Old Norse instead of the Latin based word "sacrifice". Secondly, I also think that there are just too many negative connatations that come with the word sacrifice and that the word "gifting" is a much better description of what it we do anyway.
