Cleasby and Vigfusson's An Icelandic-English Dictionary of Old Icelandic The first indexed and browsable edition of this expensive and
rare dictionary is now available to you only from the Northvegr Foundation!
The dictionary is available in easy to browse JPG graphic files in its entirety.
We are currently working on transcribing this dictionary into searchable HTML
and RTF text files. If you would like to help us with the Cleasby-Vigfusson

In Text Format to the Internet Viewing Public The Cleasby-Vigfusson Project
We are now organizing a project to proofread the HTML texts
of for An Icelandic-English Dictionary, by Richard Cleasby and Gudbrand
Vigfusson, which was published in 1874. It is the most comprehensive and authoritative
dictionary on Old Icelandic in English. Our goal is to have the complete dictionary
transcribed into HTML and RTF text files by the end of 2005. We need transcribers
who can work with Old Icelandic characters as well as Greek. If you want to
