(Continuation)

Þeir þektusk þetta, ok hon fal þá. Hon tók línsekk einn, ok hugðu þeir at aska væri í; hon tók þat í hendi sinni ok søri því um gammann utan ok innan. Litlu síðar koma Finnar heim. Þeir spyrja hvat þar er komit. Hon segir at þar er ekki komit. Finnum þykkir þat undarligt, er þeir hofðu rakit spor alt at gammanum, en síðan finna þeir ekki. Þá gøra þeir sér eld ok matbúa, en er þeir váru mettir, þá býr Gunnhildr rekkju sína. En svá hafði áðr farit þrjár nœtr, at Gunnhildr hafði sofit, en hvárr þeira hefir vakat yfir öðrum fyrir ábrýðis sakir. Þá mælti hon til Finna: "Farið nú hingat, ok liggi á sína hlíð mér hvárr ykkar." Þeir urðu þessu fegnir, ok gørðu svá. Hon hélt sinni hendi um háls hvárum þeira. Þeir sofna þegar, en hon vekr þá, ok enn bráðliga sofna þeira. Þeir sofna þegar, en hon vekr þá, ok enn bráðliga sofna þeir, ok svá fast, at hon fær varliga vakit þá. Ok enn sofna þeir; ok fær hon þá fyrir engan mun vakit þá. Ok þá setr hon þá upp, ok enn sofa þeir. hon tekr þá selbelgi tvá mikla ok steypir yfir höfuð þeim, ok bindr at sterkliga fyrir neðan hendrnar. Þá gørir hon bending konungsmönnum; hlaupa þeir þá fram ok bera vápn á Finna, ok fá hlaðit þeim, draga þá út ór gammanum. Um nóttina eptir váru reiðarþrumur svá stórar, at þeir máttu hvergi fara. En at morni fóru þeir til skips, ok höfðu Gunnhildi með sér ok fœrðu hana Eiríki. Fóru þeir Eiríkr þá suðr til Hálogalands. Hann stefndi til sín Özuri tota: Eiríkr segir at hann vill fá dóttur hans. Özurr játar því; fær þá Eiríkr Gunnhildar ok hefir hana með sér suðr í land.
